We welcome applications from native and non-native English speakers who want to pursue a TESL/TEFL certification. Students can enroll in the program as long as they have met the TESL/TEFL admission requirements, such as a B.A. degree, and possess an advanced level of English proficiency. Applicants must take the ESL-based Michigan Placement test and participate in an interview with the Director of the Program.
This program is designed to strengthen teachers' capacities to effectively serve English learners for whom English is a second language or English is foreign language.
Courses are scheduled to accommodate working students. Applicants should be aware that they are required to complete hours of Student Teaching Experience.
Students may register for the whole program before the start of classes.
